Two Washington State senior homes closed

Two Skagit County senior homes were recently closed down by the State of Washington when it was determined a possible danger to its residents’ health, welfare and safety.  Family members were not given much time to find another place for their loved ones.

The investigation concluded that a licensed practical nurse delayed calling for emergency help for a comatose resident until the nurse cleaned up her urine-soaked bed.  The delay made the situation worse and the woman died later.  Other allegations involved an unsafe medication system, which placed residents at risk for overdoses and errors.

I urge anyone who has a loved one in this type of facility to check it out thoroughly.  If you suspect your loved one is not being properly cared for, contact an experienced Washington State Elder Abuse attorney as soon as possible.  Everyone deserves to be cared for properly.
