Reporting elder abuse in Washington State
If you suspect elder abuse or neglect, call for help. It is okay to be suspicious; you do not need 100% proof. Do not wait until it is too late. To report this crime in Washington State, call the Department of Social and Health Services hotline anytime at 1-866-363-4276.
Elder abuse is also known as a “hidden crime” because it can be difficult to recognize since some nursing home staff try to conceal evidence. Many victims are too frightened to tell their family or friends.
